How It All Started
My sweetie and I fell in love with Dunedin while visiting in February 2020. Covid chased us home but we dreamed of finding a little place here to escape to. We found this gem online and bought it sight unseen, knowing there was a lot of work to be done to make it shine.
Fast forward to March 2021. After losing the love of my life 2 months earlier to a tragic accident, I was at a loss. Do I keep it? Do I sell it? What would my love have wanted? I decided that he would have wanted me to roll up my sleeves and get down there, ready to work. With the help of 3 wonderful friends I spent 7 weeks installing doors, trim and fixtures, and painting, painting and more painting. Then came the fun part, the decorating! With a mix of consignment store finds and new purchases, I tried to recreate how we envisioned our dream. This included a bright and airy feel, serene colours and a hint of fun. It is still a work-in-progress, but I love it.
